WDJM was founded in 1970 and named after D. Justin McCarthy. The original studio location was in the Whittemore Library.
The station operated in the library for over a decade, until it was moved to the College Center (now the McCarthy Center) in 1984. It was during this move that the station upgraded its broadcasting power to 100 watts, greatly increasing the broadcast radius.
Unfortunately, not much else is known about the radio station and its history on campus. If you have any other information about the history of the station or old photographs, please email us at email@example.com !
